How is the due date computed?
By Naegele's rule, 280 days (40 weeks) are added to the first day of your last menstrual period. If your typical cycle varies from 28 days, the calculation adjusts accordingly.
When the conception date is known, 266 days are added. For IVF transfers, 263 days are added for 3-day transfers and 261 days for 5-day blastocyst transfers.
Method
Seemantham and Valaikappu planning
In traditional Tamil culture, Seemantham or Valaikappu is observed during the 5th, 7th, or 9th month of pregnancy (approx. day 112 to 252). AstroYogam derives this exact calendar window from your EDD.
Method
Delivery muhurtham and birth chart
For planned deliveries where medical discretion permits, auspicious muhurtham windows can be reviewed within clinically approved dates (at or after 39 weeks). Natural delivery windows are also mapped.
